Downtown Kuala Lumpur transforms into a vibrant cultural playground with 26 days of programming across 25 venues, featuring over 80 events and more than 700 hours of activities.


The majority of these events are free and open to everyone.

💝 "Memory & Tomorrow"

Organised by Think City and DBKL in collaboration with Visit Malaysia 2026, this year's theme investigates how historical narratives shape our future.


Expect an eclectic mix of large-scale dance celebrations, theatrical performances and immersive storytelling throughout the city.


Here are this week's events:

🎭 Festival Programme Highlights

The festival breathes life into the city's stories in unique and unexpected ways:

⭐ Jogeton (9 May): 200 dancers. 90 minutes. One winner. Join the joget marathon at Dataran Merdeka, free to watch or dance along!

⭐ Irama Pusaka (8-9 May): 68 musicians from gamelan, sape, Chinese orchestra and Indian classical traditions unite on one stage for a night you won't forget.

⭐ Warung TERANG (8-17 May): Watch KL's buildings come alive through dazzling projection mapping by local collective Filamen.

⭐ Siapa Cacat? (23-24 May): Eight disabled performers reclaim public space through humour, defiance and heart. A must-watch.

🔍 Discovering Hidden Art

Launching on 6 May, the "Museum of Disappearance: Cawangan Petaling Street" turns Petaling Street into a 24-hour open-air museum with 25 artworks hidden across streets and alleyways.

♻️ Sustain;ed KL Open Day (16 May): Upcycle plastic waste into keychains and pouches. Free, walk-in.

🌸 Petal Print Paper (16 May, 9am): Urban farm tour + eco-printing your own postcard. RM45.

🇵🇸 SUMUD: Palestinian Cultural Workshop (16–17 May): Tatreez embroidery, photography talk, Maqluba cooking & Dabke dance. RM35–55 donation.

💃 Ronggeng KL (18–23 May, 28–30 May): Free walk-in exhibition and workshops on traditional Malay dance.

🎵 Music Workshop: Stories in Sound (24 May, 10am): Turn life experiences into music. Ticketed, no experience needed.
